ABC Summer Academy and Meetings of the ABC Working Groups -
     Period : 6/8/2009 - 6/12/2009

Rethymno, Crete, Greece

     Details : During 8-12 of June, 2009 the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce in cooperation with DIHK-ABC Partnership Project and with the support of Chamber of Commerce of Rethymno, organized in Rethymno, Crete (Greece) the annual edition of “ABC Summer Academy” and the meeting of the ABC Working Groups on EU Integration, Trade Facilitation and Project Sustainability. The reunion gathered representatives from all Chamber members of ABC-DIHK Project, who discussed ways and means to enhance the cooperation within the mentioned areas. Within the Project Sustainability WG an overview of the remaining activities for this year has been made, as follows: - September – Seminar on EU Project organized by CC of Serbia - 23-24 September – Meeting of the Presidents and National Coordinator of ABC member countries in Berlin to discuss the new project for the Western Balkans - 1-2 October – 2nd Reunion of ABC National Coordinators in Antalya, Turkey - 2nd week of October – Reunion of Network Information WG in Bucharest, Romania - November 10th - ABC South-Est European Conference on Infrastructure in focus of Internationalization – New Perspectives for Interregional Cooperation between SME’s in Sofia, Bulgaria - November 18th – Seminar on IT and automotive sector organized by Frankfurt CC, Germany - November – 2nd ABC General Assembly The program of the ABC Summer Academy included also two interactive seminars one on “The role of University Institutions facilitating the effectiveness of the local chambers of commerce on technology transfer to spin-offs and SME’s”, lecturer Prof. George Kiriakidis from the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser and the second on “EU Projects and Financing sources in Energy saving and Eco-Innovation”, presented by Mr.Teocharis Tsoutsos, Prof. at the Technical University of Crete.
